Comparison between Phyllonorycter spinicolella and P. cerasicolella.
The antrum usually does not extend beyond 7th segment.
Measure length and width of the antrum. In spinicolella the ratio is 5 to 5.5 (length divided by width) and in cersasicolella it is around 7. The length is also shorter in spinicolella.
Also, another crucial genital difference compared to Phyllonorycter cerasicolella is the number of turns of the ductus spermatheca: less than 10 in this species, about 20 in P. cerasicolella.
